Eligible gear bought directly from Under Armour has free returns within 60 days of purchase, with proof and original-condition requirements. Factory House purchases cannot return to a Brand House. U.S. online routes include Happy Returns and UPS; store purchases mailed back receive a UA e-gift card. Payment-method and exchange exceptions apply.
How to start a return
In a store
- Choose a Factory House for Factory House purchases; Brand House accepts eligible Brand House and online purchases.
- Bring proof of purchase, valid photo ID and the original payment method.
- Confirm the refund method; PayPal store returns use a UA gift card.
Online or by mail
- Enter purchase location, full order number and purchase email in the official portal.
- Choose the available Happy Returns or UPS route and follow its packing/code instructions.
- Keep one separate label and package per order, and save the acceptance receipt.
What is Under Armour’s return policy?
Under Armour offers free returns within 60 days of purchase for eligible gear bought directly from UA.com, the app or an Under Armour Brand House or Factory House. The gear must meet the condition rules and have proof of purchase. Products bought from other retailers follow that seller’s return process.
The part worth checking before you leave home is the store type. A Factory House purchase cannot be returned or exchanged at a Brand House. A Factory House can handle eligible Brand House, online and Factory House purchases. Those names are not interchangeable when you are choosing a return destination.
For an online order, you can start through the official return portal or use an eligible Under Armour store. Depending on the order, the portal offers Happy Returns or UPS options. The refund route also matters: a store purchase mailed back is refunded as a UA e-gift card, rather than automatically going back to the original payment method.
| Purchase or question | Rule | What matters |
|---|---|---|
| Direct eligible purchase | 60 days from purchase | Proof and original tags required |
| Factory House purchase | Return to Factory House | Not accepted at Brand House |
| Online purchase | Eligible Brand House/Factory House route | Bring purchase proof and payment information |
| Store purchase mailed back | UA e-gift card by email | Different from original-card refund |
| Happy Returns handover | No packaging needed | Use the portal-generated instructions |
| Different orders | Separate label and separate package | Do not combine transactions |
When does the 60-day return window begin?
The standard Under Armour window starts on the purchase date. The policy tells you to begin the return within 60 days of purchasing the order. It does not describe a fresh 60-day period beginning when you first wear the gear or decide it is unsuitable.
Check the date on the original receipt or order confirmation. If you bought several orders close together, match each item to its own transaction instead of using the date of the newest package for everything.
Start early enough to complete the instructions and hand over the gear promptly. Creating a return request is one step; keeping the merchandise sitting at home after generating a code is another. Follow the deadline shown by the portal. If delivery trouble or another unusual circumstance has reduced your available time, ask Customer Service about that order rather than assuming a different clock applies.
Can you return worn, washed or opened Under Armour gear?
The standard policy excludes gear that has been worn, used, washed, altered or opened. It also requires all original tags. For footwear, include the original shoe box in its original condition.
That makes it important to decide whether to keep a purchase before using it for a workout or washing it with the rest of your kit. A product can be inside the 60-day window and still fail the condition requirements. Time and condition are separate parts of eligibility.
If you think an item has a defect, explain the actual problem to Customer Service rather than sending used gear as an ordinary unworn return. Under Armour warns that merchandise received outside its policy may be donated or discarded, will not be sent back and will not receive a refund. Resolve uncertainty before posting a questionable item; the warehouse is not a place to send it for a risk-free opinion.
Are Under Armour returns free?
Eligible direct purchases have free return options under Under Armour’s published policy and return portal. The U.S. online process offers Happy Returns and UPS choices, with the available instructions shown for your transaction.
Free return transport does not mean every charge from the original purchase is refunded. Under Armour specifically says the original shipping fee is nonrefundable. For example, if you paid extra to have an order delivered quickly, the free return label does not automatically reimburse that original delivery expense.
Use Under Armour’s own return process instead of paying for an independent shipment and assuming the cost will be reimbursed. If the portal does not show an option you can use, contact the team before choosing a carrier yourself. Also check the refund destination before selecting mail for a store purchase: that particular route results in a UA e-gift card under the policy, even though the return service itself may be free.
How do you start an Under Armour online return?
Open the official return portal or go to Order History in your account. Select the original purchase location and enter the full order number and the email address used for the purchase. Use the order number exactly as shown, including its prefix.
Choose the items you are returning, then follow the options offered for that order. U.S. returns may use a Happy Returns Bar or a UPS drop-off. The process can provide a printable UPS label or a QR code. You do not need to invent a warehouse address or use a label from a previous order.
Before confirming, check that you selected a refund rather than an exchange if you want your money back. Review which items the request includes and keep the confirmation. After handing over the return, ask for the receipt and retain it until the refund is resolved. It gives you evidence of the handover if tracking or processing later needs investigation.
What is the difference between Happy Returns and UPS?
At a Happy Returns Bar, Under Armour says the items do not need to be packaged. Follow the code and location instructions generated by the return portal and take the correct gear to the selected service.
UPS is a parcel route. Follow the packing instructions and use the label or QR option supplied for the order. A QR code can help the representative produce the label, but do not assume it makes every UPS return a box-free Happy Returns handover. The two services have different handling.
Their refund stages differ as well. Under Armour says a Happy Returns refund is initiated when the gear is processed at the Return Bar, with visibility generally described as three to five business days. A UPS return waits until the warehouse receives and processes the gear before the refund begins. Choose the route that works for you, while keeping the drop-off receipt in either case.
Can you combine items from different Under Armour orders?
No. Under Armour requires a separate return label and a separate package for each order. Items from the same order can be included in one package using one label.
This is easy to miss when two deliveries arrive together and you want to send back one item from each. Put the order confirmations next to the gear and separate the returns before sealing a parcel. A matching logo does not make two transactions one return.
If you generated only one label but have items from several orders, go back to the portal and create the missing return rather than slipping everything into the first box. Keep each tracking number with its order. If one refund arrives before the other, you can then tell which parcel has been processed. This simple separation is particularly useful during sales, when several similar shirts or pairs of shoes may have arrived on different receipts.
Which Under Armour store accepts Brand House and Factory House returns?
For an eligible Brand House or online purchase, the policy permits a return or exchange at a Brand House. A Factory House can handle eligible Brand House, online or Factory House purchases. Factory House purchases cannot be returned or exchanged at a Brand House.
Use the official locator to check the destination before driving. Bring proof of purchase, a valid photo ID and the original payment method. For a digital wallet, be prepared to identify the card details associated with the original transaction.
Store purchases also have a country restriction: gear bought in a U.S. store must be returned in the United States, and gear bought in Canada must be returned in Canada. Do not assume a nearby store across the border can reverse the sale. If your purchase source or location is unusual, call the store with the receipt details and ask which route it can accept.
Can you return an Under Armour store purchase by mail?
The official portal includes a route for Brand House and Factory House purchases, but mailing a store purchase changes the refund tender. Under Armour says these returns are refunded as a UA e-gift card sent by email.
If getting the money back to the original card matters to you, consider the appropriate store route first and ask about your payment method. The convenience of mailing the package may not be worth receiving store credit if you do not intend to shop again soon.
Here is a practical example: you bought a qualifying jacket in a Factory House and now live far from that store. Mailing it may be available through the portal, but the published result is an e-gift card. An eligible return to a Factory House may offer the original-payment route, subject to the payment rules. Make that comparison before sending the jacket, rather than discovering the difference after processing.
What happens if you do not have an Under Armour receipt?
Proof of purchase is part of the normal policy. Start by checking your account, confirmation email or gift paperwork before asking for a return without it.
Under Armour does describe a conditional exception: if a return without original UA proof is accepted, its value is based on the item’s last known selling price and the refund is a UA gift card. That is not a promise that every undocumented purchase will be accepted, and it is not a guarantee of the amount originally paid.
Take a valid photo ID and explain where and when you bought the item. If you paid $80 but the last known selling price is lower, an accepted no-proof return may have a lower value. Ask the associate to confirm the amount and tender before completing it. Do not assume a bank statement alone supplies the full product and purchase information the team needs.
Can you exchange Under Armour for a different size or color?
Under Armour offers size and color exchanges through UA.com within 60 days of purchase for eligible orders. Start in the portal, choose Exchange Items and select the available replacement size or color.
The carrier route affects when the replacement starts processing. With Happy Returns, the exchange begins processing when you drop off the gear. With UPS, it begins after the warehouse receives and processes it. Under Armour sends tracking when the exchange ships; handover does not mean the replacement has already left the warehouse.
There is also a payment exception. If Happy Returns is unavailable in your area and the purchase used a gift card, Apple Pay, PayPal or Klarna, the policy directs you to return for a refund and place a new order. Contact Customer Service if the price has changed. That matters during promotions, because a new purchase is not automatically the same financial transaction as a direct exchange.
How are PayPal, Apple Pay and Klarna refunds handled?
For eligible online returns, Under Armour’s refund chart sends PayPal payments back to PayPal, Apple Pay payments back to Apple Pay and Klarna payments back to Klarna. In a store, a PayPal return is issued as a UA gift card.
For an Apple Pay or Klarna store return, have the last four digits of the card connected to the account ready. Digital transactions may mask card information, so the number an associate needs may not look identical to the number on a physical card.
Under Armour also says you remain responsible for a balance due to Klarna. Watch the provider’s account after the retailer processes the return and ask Klarna about upcoming payments or an unadjusted balance. For orders funded with several methods, the policy says each method is refunded according to its own rules. Do not assume the entire order will be turned into cash or credited to one different card.
How long does an Under Armour refund take?
The policy gives several timing descriptions, so match the estimate to your route. Happy Returns refunds are initiated when the gear is processed at the Return Bar, with the online-return instructions describing three to five business days for visibility on the original payment method.
For UPS returns, the refund begins after the warehouse receives and processes the parcel. The refund section asks customers to allow up to 14 business days for posting, with timing varying during busy periods such as December and January. An e-gift-card refund is emailed after processing and may also take up to 14 business days under the stated timing.
Keep the return receipt and confirmation. If the expected period has passed, ask whether the return has been processed and which payment method was refunded. A carrier delivery scan, a refund approval and the appearance of money in an account are separate events; identifying the missing stage makes follow-up more productive.
What if the Under Armour item was a gift or came from another retailer?
For a gift bought directly from Under Armour, use the gift-receipt option where available and ask which refund or exchange route applies. The policy tells shoppers taking online gear to a store to bring the original sales receipt or gift receipt, along with the relevant payment information.
If another retailer sold the gear, its return policy is the starting point. Under Armour explicitly limits this policy to direct purchases. A department-store receipt does not become an Under Armour sale because the product carries the UA logo.
For a defect or unusual gift situation, explain the purchase source and problem before shipping anything. The company’s warning about rejecting and discarding out-of-policy warehouse returns makes it especially important to get the correct instructions first. Keep gift packaging and tags while you decide, and ask the giver for purchase details if you need help identifying the transaction.
Does Under Armour extend returns for the holidays?
The current policy says Under Armour typically extends the ordinary 60-day period to 90 days for orders placed between November 1 and December 31. It presents that as its usual holiday practice rather than a separately dated announcement confirming every detail of the 2026 season.
For an actual holiday purchase, check the order’s displayed return deadline and current holiday wording when you buy. A longer seasonal window does not remove the condition requirements, the direct-purchase restriction or the different refund treatment for certain payment methods.
Also avoid applying November’s usual extension to an October order without confirmation. If you are buying a gift well in advance, keep the receipt and ask about the deadline for that purchase. The useful question is the latest acceptable date for your order, not simply whether the brand has ever offered a holiday extension in a previous season.
How do you contact Under Armour Customer Service?
Call 1-888-727-6687 for general customer service. The Help Center lists phone availability Monday through Sunday, 8 a.m.–midnight Eastern Time. Chat is also listed for those hours. Text support is listed separately at 1-833-550-3938, Monday through Saturday, 8 a.m.–8 p.m. Eastern Time.
Have the receipt or full order number ready and explain the decision you need help making. For example: “This was bought at a Factory House; can I return it here?” or “I paid with PayPal and need the refund back to that account.” Those questions are more likely to resolve the issue than a general request for the return policy.
If an item may fall outside the condition or deadline rules, get the answer before mailing it. Save the case reference and any instructions, then use the approved route. The goal is to know the destination, refund tender and next step before the gear leaves your hands.
