QVC Return Policy: Refund Deductions, Free Exchanges and 2026 Holiday Dates

Understand QVC’s 30-day returns, $6.95–$10.95 label fees, free eligible exchanges, refund timing and January 31, 2027 holiday deadline.

By October 14, 2026

The short answer

QVC normally gives you 30 days after delivery to return eligible merchandise. A standard refund has original shipping and return-label deductions, while defects, QVC errors and qualifying exchanges have different shipping treatment. Qualifying September 21–December 24, 2026 purchases have until January 31, 2027, with product exclusions.

01 / THE DETAILS

What is QVC’s return policy and how long do you have?

QVC normally gives you 30 days after receiving the package to return eligible merchandise. If the product is not right for you, the first decision is whether you want your money back or another size or color. That choice can affect the shipping deductions.

There is also a generous current holiday extension: qualifying purchases made September 21–December 24, 2026 can go back through January 31, 2027. Food, personalized products and several other categories are excluded, so the longer deadline is not universal.

For an ordinary return, open Order Status on QVC.com or in the app. The order’s return options are a better starting point than the old label in a drawer. They connect the item, reason and requested outcome to the right shipment. The table below separates the main deadlines and costs so you can see what applies before packing anything.

Does QVC charge for returns?

For an ordinary refund, QVC generally deducts the original shipping and handling and the Q Return Label fee. The label is prepaid, but its cost usually comes out of your reimbursement.

Here is where the reason matters. For a defect, a QVC error or an exchange/replacement request, QVC says it refunds shipping and handling and does not deduct the label charge. If the wrong product arrived, describe that error rather than selecting a general change-of-mind reason.

The simplest way to estimate the refund is to look at the paid amount on your invoice and the fee printed on the return label. With your own carrier, you pay postage directly. That is a different arrangement from QVC waiving its label deduction, so confirm the treatment before buying independent postage for a defect or order-error return.

03 / THE DETAILS

How much is the Q Return Label fee?

The published Q Return Label fees are $6.95 for 0–5 pounds, $8.95 for 5.01–10 pounds and $10.95 for 10.01–150 pounds. QVC uses the item’s original weight in its original packaging.

Your label shows the applicable charge. That is the amount to use, since fees can change and an older order may not tell you what a current return costs. The standard charge is deducted from the refund, with the policy’s defect, error and exchange exceptions.

For illustration, a $20 merchandise refund with a $6.95 label deduction leaves $13.05 before other applicable adjustments. That is a noticeable cost on a small purchase. If you like an eligible item but need another size or color, the exchange option may solve the problem more economically. If you simply do not want it, calculate the refund you will actually receive.

How do you start a QVC return online?

Open Order Status, find the purchase and choose Start a Return or Start a Return or Exchange. Select the item and reason, then the refund, replacement or exchange option you want.

The flow offers the available shipping methods for that order: a printed Q Return Label, a USPS or UPS QR code, or your own carrier. For a size or color exchange, enter the variation you need so QVC can identify the requested replacement.

This is especially helpful if you ordered the same garment in several sizes. Use the order containing the piece you are returning, so the label and expected contents match. Save the confirmation after submitting. If the return button is missing or the label will not reprint, Customer Service can investigate the order. Reusing a label from another purchase creates a mismatch that is harder to resolve later.

05 / THE DETAILS

Can you return to QVC without a printer?

Yes, eligible QVC returns can use a USPS or UPS QR code instead of a home-printed label. Generate the code in the online return flow and take it with your packed parcel to the appropriate carrier location.

The carrier prints and attaches the label. Choose the service named in your instructions: a UPS option belongs with UPS, and a USPS option belongs with USPS. For a large box, a quick check of the location’s services and hours makes the visit easier.

This is a printing convenience, rather than a different return policy. An ordinary refund can still have the Q Return Label fee, and the deadline remains the one attached to the purchase. Once the parcel is accepted, the drop-off receipt gives you the tracking record. That is more useful for following a return than the code alone, which only shows you prepared it.

06 / THE DETAILS

What should go inside the return package?

Send back the complete item or set, with all its parts and accessories. QVC asks you to repack it in the original packaging and include the pack slip if available, or a note showing the order number.

Think about the purchase as QVC will receive it. A blender needs its jar as well as its base; a set needs all the pieces. A charger or small accessory is easy to overlook when it has already found a home in another room.

One quick check of the contents before sealing the box is more useful than trying to reconstruct them after shipping. A photo can help with your own records, although it is not a universal QVC requirement. Cover old shipping labels and attach the one for this return. Complete contents matter even if QVC issues an early refund, because the parcel will still be inspected.

07 / THE DETAILS

Can you combine several QVC returns in one box?

Keep jewelry and non-jewelry returns separate. QVC expressly says not to combine them. Beyond that, follow the instructions generated for the items you are returning rather than assuming every order can share one box.

The reason is practical: jewelry uses a separate route, and other returns can have different destinations according to your state. Combining parcels only helps if the label, destination and paperwork correctly cover everything inside.

With multiple orders, compare their instructions. If a shared box is not clearly authorized, ask QVC about the specific order numbers and products. That gives support something concrete to approve or explain. Keep an item-by-item record if it agrees to combined packaging. An early refund may be based on an expected product and quantity, so a parcel that does not match the request can cause problems even when every item originally came from QVC.

08 / THE DETAILS

Where should you send a QVC return?

Use the address on your Q Return Label. It is tied to the correct return location for that shipment and saves you from choosing between warehouse addresses yourself.

If you prefer your own carrier, QVC publishes a destination list. Jewelry returns from all states go to its jewelry-return location in Florence, South Carolina. Other merchandise goes to Ontario, California or Florence according to the state you are returning from.

That means a friend's return address may be wrong for your parcel, even if both purchases came from QVC. Open the current address instructions and match the category and state. Include the order paperwork so the warehouse can identify what arrived. For independent shipping, QVC recommends ground service and insurance for the full merchandise value. The carrier receipt then gives you both the shipment record and something to use if the parcel goes missing.

09 / THE DETAILS

Are QVC exchanges really free?

QVC offers free exchanges for the same item in another available size or color when you use its Q Return Label. The item number must stay the same, and the replacement has to be in stock.

That is a useful option when the purchase is nearly right: you like the sweater, but need a medium instead of a small. Choosing an entirely different sweater is a different transaction. The replacement also goes to the original shipping address. For a new destination, QVC directs you to return for a refund and place a new order.

Read the request confirmation for any applicable additional merchandise or shipping costs, which QVC says can be charged to the original credit card. The free-exchange offer explains the return treatment; it is not a promise that every possible replacement request has identical pricing or shipping requirements.

10 / THE DETAILS

What if the replacement size or color is sold out?

If QVC cannot fulfill your requested exchange, it issues a refund without deducting the Q Return Label fee. Its refund guidance includes unavailable waitlist and advance-order items in that explanation.

The key is recording an actual exchange request for the same item number and the size or color you want. If you would accept another variation, support can discuss availability; it is better to make that preference explicit than hope the warehouse chooses it for you.

When no replacement is sent, review the refund against the request confirmation. The reimbursement may go to your original payment method or QVC account credit according to the processing option. An unexpected label deduction is a good reason to contact QVC with those details. Having the exchange record makes it easier to distinguish an unavailable replacement from a standard refund request, since the label treatment differs.

11 / THE DETAILS

How quickly must you send back an exchange?

QVC asks you to return the original merchandise within 15 days after contacting it for an exchange. Arrange the exchange while the purchase still qualifies under its normal or applicable holiday return period.

Once you have selected a replacement, the return becomes time-sensitive. The 15-day instruction is a deadline for getting the original back; it is not an automatic extension that revives an expired order. Packaging the item when you make the request keeps the two parts moving together.

If the exchange option is missing on an eligible order, chat or phone support can help. Confirm the replacement details and the original-item instructions in the same conversation. An early replacement or refund does not finish the transaction: QVC still checks the product and quantity it receives. The return confirmation and tracking connect that original shipment to the exchange you arranged.

12 / THE DETAILS

How long does a QVC refund take?

QVC typically processes a return within three business days after receiving it. It then issues the refund to the original payment method or provides credit to your QVC customer account.

There are three stages to the wait: carrier transit, QVC processing and the credit appearing with your payment provider. QVC's guidance allows another three business days or up to two billing cycles for the financial institution's credit to appear on statements. Those periods are not all measured from drop-off.

If you are chasing a missing refund, tracking is the first clue. A parcel still in transit is a shipping question. A delivered parcel awaiting processing is a QVC question. For a refund already issued, verify where it went before checking with the payment provider. Looking for a bank credit will not help if the transaction resulted in QVC account credit.

13 / THE DETAILS

Why might QVC refund you before the return arrives?

Some qualifying Q Return Label or QR-code returns receive an early refund after carrier acceptance. This can put the money back sooner, but QVC still verifies the contents when the parcel arrives.

The warehouse needs to receive the correct product and quantity, in the required condition. Missing parts, accessories or manuals can lead to charges for a previously refunded amount or an advance replacement. Sending a different product can also result in the original payment method being rebilled.

The benefit is speed, not a shortcut through inspection. Match the label to the item and include everything that came with it. Then keep the request and carrier receipt until the return is settled. If an early credit is later reversed, those records help you ask what the inspection found. A credit arriving before the parcel is normal for this conditional service, but it is not final acceptance of the contents.

14 / THE DETAILS

What should you do with a defective or incorrect QVC item?

For a defective item or one QVC shipped incorrectly, its dedicated instructions allow a return within 30 days using the Q Return Label. These cases qualify for refunded shipping and handling and no label-fee deduction.

Use the reason that describes the problem in Order Status. “Wrong item received” tells QVC something different from “no longer wanted.” A replacement or eligible same-item exchange may solve the issue if you still want the product.

For a large item, missing label or unclear instructions, involve Customer Service before shipping. Explain the fault, item number and delivery method. The holiday policy also directs customers to call about defects or QVC errors in its excluded categories. In those situations, an ordinary seasonal deadline is not enough to choose the route. You want the order problem recognized as part of the return, including its shipping treatment.

15 / THE DETAILS

Can you return something you opened or tried?

Opening the package does not settle the question either way. The product must qualify for return, and QVC's inspection rules call for original condition and complete contents. Its satisfaction policy is not an unrestricted trial for every item.

A quick fit check on an eligible garment is a different situation from returning something visibly worn or damaged. For a device or appliance, the offer and product-specific guidance matter when deciding how much use is appropriate before returning it.

If the item fails, describe the failure. That gives QVC a chance to assess a defect instead of treating the request as a preference change. For uncertain condition or a restricted product, support can review the purchase before you spend time shipping it. Preserve the packaging while deciding: it makes an eligible return easier and helps keep the accessories together.

16 / THE DETAILS

What is QVC’s 2026 holiday return policy?

Qualifying purchases made September 21–December 24, 2026 can be returned through January 31, 2027. The extra time is helpful for gifts, but ordinary refund deductions still apply.

QVC also includes the Christmas in July Sale Preview and Christmas in July Sale. Its wording covers some September 19 purchases as well, so an order from that date needs individual confirmation rather than a blanket assumption.

The extension excludes personalized products, food and beverages, gift cards, charitable donations and Final Sale Price items. QVC says returns or exchanges on those listed items are only accepted for defects or QVC errors, with customers directed to call. For a gift, the most useful information to pass on is the order record and confirmed deadline. The holiday offer gives eligible purchases more time; it does not make every product returnable or every return free.

17 / THE DETAILS

How do large-item and in-home delivery returns work?

For in-home or doorway deliveries, QVC says to have the item boxed or packaged and contact it to arrange the return. It does not provide return boxes or packaging. Keeping the original materials can therefore save a considerable hassle.

A large item is not simply a bigger version of a small USPS parcel. The delivery method affects how it can be collected and sent back. Give support the item number, condition and original delivery details so it can arrange the appropriate process.

Ask about collection, preparation and charges in that conversation, before booking transport yourself. If the product arrived damaged, raise that immediately because a defect or QVC error changes the shipping treatment. The goal is to leave the call knowing who is arranging the return and what you need to have ready, rather than guessing at freight arrangements afterward.

18 / THE DETAILS

How can you contact QVC about a return?

Call QVC U.S. Customer Service at 888-345-5788. Its exchange-help article lists phone and chat help for that process from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. Eastern.

The most useful detail depends on the problem. For an exchange, give the item number and desired size or color. For a return option that is missing, explain the delivery date or holiday eligibility. For a delayed refund, the tracking and processing confirmation show where the wait began.

A clear opening can be as simple as, “This return was delivered on Monday; has the refund been processed?” It gives the representative a specific question to resolve. For an unexpected deduction, compare the invoice and label fee with the refund. You should be able to understand whether the difference comes from shipping, a standard label charge or another adjustment without retelling the entire purchase history.
