Woot accepts most eligible purchases within 30 days of delivery. Standard nondefective returns have a prepaid shipping deduction; new, unworn apparel and shoes have a free-return exception. Specialty-carrier returns have a stated $50 fee, and several product types are excluded or need support. A 15% restocking assessment can apply when a claimed defect is not found.
What is Woot’s return policy?
Woot allows most purchases to be returned within 30 days of delivery, subject to product exceptions and shipping deductions. Its current FAQ distinguishes ordinary merchandise, apparel, food, hazardous products and heavy or bulky deliveries. Check the category before treating the general window as the whole policy.
The return route is through Woot’s purchase history or customer support. Not every return qualifies for the self-service label option, and an unavailable button does not by itself establish that the general delivery-based period has expired.
Identify the order, delivery date, product condition and reason. A wrong size, a change of mind and damage on arrival can lead to different shipping or assessment rules. The table below highlights those distinctions so you can estimate the practical cost and use the correct process before mailing anything back.
| Situation | Key rule | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Most eligible ordinary merchandise | 30 days from delivery | Use Woot purchase history or support |
| New, unworn apparel or shoes | Original packaging; free-return exception | Start through support |
| Self-service label | Order under 30 days old, $20+ item, qualifying arrival problem | Use Stuff You Bought if eligible |
| Specialty-carrier delivery | $50 stated return fee | Arrange return with support |
| Claimed defect not found | Possible 15% restocking assessment | Report the actual problem accurately |
| Lithium-ion battery item | Special handling instructions | Contact [email protected] |
Does Woot’s 30-day return period start at order or delivery?
The general return policy uses 30 days from delivery. However, the self-service return instructions separately require that the order was placed within the last 30 days. These are different clocks, and the order-based tool requirement should not be silently substituted for the general delivery-based window.
Keep the purchase and delivery records together. If an item took time to arrive, you may still be within the general period while failing the self-service order-age condition. Contact support to ask how to start the eligible return.
Report the issue promptly rather than waiting for the last day. State both dates and describe the item’s condition. If Woot provides a return-by date or special instruction in your case, preserve it and follow it. Printing a label or sending an email is not the same as completing every step required for the approved return.
Why does Woot’s self-service return button not appear?
Woot’s FAQ limits self-service returns to orders placed within the last 30 days, items priced $20 or more, and merchandise that arrived damaged, defective or missing accessories. Shirt.Woot, apparel and freight-carrier orders do not qualify for that automatic route.
Go to Stuff You Bought for the correct order. If the conditions do not match or the button is unavailable, use customer support. A $15 item or a preference return does not become ineligible solely because it cannot use the self-service tool; support must assess the relevant policy route.
Do not select a false defect just to unlock a label. The returned product can be inspected, and inaccurate damage claims can affect the refund. Give the actual reason, price and dates so the team can direct you to the correct process.
How do you start a Woot return?
Use Stuff You Bought for a qualifying self-service return, or Woot’s official support page for other cases. Woot says a qualifying customer can initiate the return and print the label from purchase history. Follow the case-specific label, destination and preparation instructions supplied.
Before contacting support, gather the order number, product name, delivery date and actual problem. If the item arrived damaged, clear photographs and a description of what failed can help explain the case. Keep accessories and original packaging while the return is being arranged.
Do not ship to an address copied from an old package or a forum comment. An approved label ties the return to the order and route. Retain the confirmation, carrier handoff receipt and tracking until both merchandise acceptance and the refund are complete.
Are Woot returns free, and who pays return shipping?
For most ordinary items not damaged or defective, Woot deducts the prepaid return-shipping cost from the refund. Its FAQ does not give a single flat parcel rate for every standard product. Apparel and shoes have a specific free-return provision, while specialty-carrier items have a separate $50 fee.
Ask for the actual deduction when a cost is not shown. A lightweight accessory and a larger appliance may not have the same shipping expense. Compare that cost with the item’s refund value before deciding whether to return it.
Keep the return summary so you can check the final credit. A no-charge outbound shipment is a different benefit from a free return. If the reason is damage or a defect, describe it truthfully and follow the approved route rather than assuming every unwanted purchase has free return postage.
Does Amazon Prime give you free Woot returns?
Woot’s FAQ advertises free standard outbound shipping for Prime members, plus free express shipping for Shirt.Woot orders. It does not describe those benefits as a universal free-return policy. The return-shipping deduction and product-specific exceptions still need to be checked separately.
Using an Amazon login to buy from Woot does not tell you what your particular return will cost. Review the Woot order and reason, then look at the label or support approval. Eligible apparel may qualify for free return shipping through its own provision, independent of an assumption about Prime.
Do not estimate your net refund solely from what you paid for delivery. If you received free outbound shipping, there can still be a return charge on ordinary nondefective merchandise. Ask for the proposed deduction before sending it back.
Can you return Woot clothing or shoes that do not fit?
Apparel and shoes can be returned in new, unworn condition in the original packaging when the purchase or size is unsatisfactory. Woot says it issues the refund without a shipping deduction after receiving qualifying merchandise. Products resized, damaged or otherwise altered after delivery are excluded from that route.
Try fit carefully before wearing outdoors or washing. Keep the shoe box, garment packaging and identifying information while deciding. A new-condition fit return is different from a complaint about clothing worn for weeks.
The self-service tool excludes apparel and Shirt.Woot orders, so use support to initiate the return rather than declaring a defect to obtain an automatic label. Explain the size issue and preserve the approval. The free-return exception does not remove the general deadline or the stated new-and-unworn condition.
Can you combine Woot items that have different return-shipping rules?
Woot warns that combining products eligible for free returns with products ineligible for free returns can still lead to shipping deductions for the ineligible items. Product, order or handling fees may also apply. Adding a shirt to a nondefective gadget return does not make the gadget’s postage automatically free.
Check the instructions for each product before packing. Ask support whether it authorizes one carton and how the cost will be allocated. Use the approved label and include the information needed to identify each returned item.
Keep a list or photograph of the parcel contents and compare the credits separately afterward. One carrier delivery does not necessarily establish identical refunds for all items. Avoid combining products from different orders or handling categories unless Woot has confirmed the correct route for that package.
What is Woot’s return fee for heavy or bulky items?
For products shipped by a specialty carrier such as CEVA, ABF or Pilot, Woot lists a flat $50 return fee. Check the actual delivery service and return instructions instead of assuming the standard parcel deduction applies to furniture or another large item.
A hypothetical $300 merchandise refund with a $50 return fee leaves $250 before any separate adjustments. That illustration assumes the item is eligible and the fee applies; it is not a universal quote for every large product or defective delivery.
Contact support before attempting to move or ship the item. Keep the packaging and document its condition. Ask how pickup, packing and scheduling work for the approved return. Do not pay an independent freight company in the expectation that Woot will reimburse a shipment it has not arranged.
How do you return a Woot item that arrived damaged or defective?
Report the problem through Woot support promptly. The FAQ’s damaged-product instructions use purchase within the past 30 days, while its general return window is based on delivery. If those dates produce uncertainty, give support both dates and ask for the applicable route instead of assuming an automatic extension.
Describe the symptom and include the relevant damage or missing-accessory details. Woot may require the defective item to be returned before issuing an exchange or refund. Keep all included pieces and avoid further use that could worsen or obscure the original issue.
Follow the approved packing and label instructions. A reported defect is subject to assessment; it is not a guarantee that no deductions can follow. Keep the original photographs, support response and handoff evidence so you can explain what arrived and what was returned.
Does Woot charge a 15% restocking fee?
A 15% restocking fee can apply when an item returned as damaged or defective is found not to be damaged or defective. In that situation, the FAQ also says the original shipping charge is not refunded. This is a specific assessment rule, not a published blanket 15% charge on every ordinary return.
For a hypothetical $200 product, 15% is $30. If that assessment applies, the merchandise amount would be $170 before other applicable charges. The example explains the calculation without predicting what Woot will decide for your item.
Choose the truthful reason and document the actual fault. If a product works but does not suit your needs, say so. Ask for an explanation if a defect claim is rejected, using your original issue description and evidence rather than treating a refund estimate as final before inspection.
Are Woot computer and tablet returns subject to extra deductions?
Woot’s FAQ says returned desktops, laptops or tablets damaged through customer misuse, missing parts or made unsellable through tampering can incur a higher restocking fee based on condition. It does not publish one universal higher percentage for all such cases.
Inspect the device and contents soon after delivery, preserving proof of any issue present on arrival. Keep included accessories and the product’s identifying information together. Do not swap components between similar devices or return a different unit under the original order.
Before an approved electronics return, protect your personal information by removing it appropriately, without hiding the reported fault or altering product identifiers. Ask support about preparation if the device cannot be powered on safely. The return team needs an accurate account of the original problem and the condition of the actual item returned.
Can you return Woot food or other perishable products?
Food and perishables are not physically returnable to Woot. Its FAQ says a refund or replacement may be possible based on the customer issue and stock availability. This is different from an ordinary change-of-mind parcel return.
If food arrives damaged or appears unsafe, stop consuming it and report the problem through support. Keep packaging details useful for identification and photograph the condition. Ask what evidence is needed and whether the approved outcome is a refund or replacement.
Do not send perishable contents through a standard label without explicit instructions. A nonreturnable category does not mean you should ignore damage, but it also does not promise money back simply because you no longer want the product. Give the order and delivery information and retain the case response until the agreed resolution is complete.
Can you return Woot fuel-powered products or hazardous materials?
Woot excludes ordinary returns of specified hazardous materials, including flammable liquids, glass or gases, and says those items are not refundable unless they arrived damaged or defective. Products that use fuel, such as mowers or grills, are not returnable; the FAQ directs customers to the warranty provider for repair or replacement.
Do not treat a standard carrier label as authorization to mail fuel or another restricted material. Contact support or the warranty provider for the approved handling route and describe the product’s condition accurately.
Check the product listing’s warranty information before arranging service. A hazardous-product exclusion and a warranty repair are different processes. Keep the original purchase record, particularly if a provider needs it to assess coverage. Avoid draining, disassembling or modifying the item solely to try to make it fit an ordinary parcel return.
How do you return a Woot item containing a lithium-ion battery?
Woot specifically tells customers returning products with a lithium-ion battery to contact [email protected]. Batteries are a separate handling case within its FAQ; they should not be lumped into a generic hazardous-item shipping instruction.
Describe the product and whether the battery is damaged, leaking, swollen or otherwise unsafe. Do not mail an unsafe battery using an ordinary label or choose a carrier without the appropriate directions. Ask support how the specific item should be handled.
Keep the order number and any images that explain the problem, while avoiding further use of unsafe equipment. Retain the written instructions and only prepare the parcel as directed. A general return approval does not by itself identify the packaging and transport requirements for every battery condition or product type.
What about Woot vacuum-sealed mattresses and damaged freight deliveries?
Woot says large vacuum-sealed mattresses and toppers are too bulky to return through the ordinary process. For damage or a defect, contact customer service for possible replacement or refund assistance. Do not assume a mattress trial or a repacking solution is included merely because the general policy mentions 30 days.
For specialty-carrier damage, the FAQ says to report it within 30 days of receiving the item. It also mentions defects under a 90-day warranty where that warranty applies; review your listing rather than assigning a 90-day warranty to every product.
Inspect the delivery and preserve packaging while arranging help. Explain whether the issue was visible on arrival or developed later. Get instructions before attempting to compress a mattress again or paying for a freight shipment that has not been approved.
Can you return a Woot Bag of Crap or cancel an accidental order?
Bags of Crap are expressly excluded from returns. Their mystery-sale nature does not turn disappointment with the contents into an ordinary preference return. Check that restriction before buying rather than relying on the headline 30-day policy.
For an eligible ordinary order placed by mistake, Woot’s FAQ says cancellation can be attempted within the first two hours through Stuff You Bought. Orders with expedited shipping are not eligible for cancellation. Use the option actually shown for the order; not every order or special-sale situation can be stopped.
A cancellation request and a return after delivery are separate processes. If you cannot cancel, check the product’s return eligibility before assuming there will be a later refund. Save the cancellation confirmation when it succeeds, rather than treating an attempted click as proof that shipment was stopped.
How long does a Woot refund take, and where can you get help?
For a qualifying Fast Refund, Woot says it processes the refund one business day after carrier drop-off. For other orders, it gives three to five business days after arrival at the warehouse. These are processing estimates, not a guarantee that your payment account will display the money at the same moment.
Check the order for the approved refund route and watch for confirmation. The FAQ reviewed does not promise one payment destination for every special case, so ask support if the method or allocation is unclear. Keep the return reference, tracking and any processing message.
Use Woot’s official support page for assistance; it directs you to available contact options based on business hours. For a delayed credit, ask whether carrier handoff, warehouse receipt, assessment or payment posting is outstanding, and provide the relevant evidence.
