Five Below accepts unopened or defective merchandise with the original receipt or online order confirmation. Refunds are available within 90 days of purchase; later exchanges are for the same item or equal value. Gift cards are excluded. What is Five Below’s return policy now?
Five Below accepts eligible unopened or defective merchandise for a refund within 90 days of purchase, with the original receipt or online order confirmation. You can take it to any Five Below location. The refund goes to the original payment method.
After 90 days, the current policy allows an exchange for the same item or another item of equal value, still with proof and still limited to unopened or defective merchandise. That continuing exchange option should not be confused with an unlimited cash-refund window.
Gift cards are nonreturnable, and special bulk orders have a separate final-sale rule. Ship-to-home web purchases also have a mail option, but Five Below does not supply return labels or reimburse the return postage. Start by deciding whether you need a refund, an exchange or help with an order problem.
| Situation | Key rule | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Within 90 days | Unopened or defective, with proof | Refund to original payment method |
| After 90 days | Same eligible condition and proof | Same-item or equal-value exchange |
| Ship-to-home order | Mail option after contacting support | Pay for tracked postage |
| Special bulk order | Final sale, with arrival-problem exceptions | Contact the bulk support team |
Does Five Below have a 90-day limit or unlimited returns?
The refund limit is 90 days from purchase. The ongoing option after that is an exchange, not a full original-payment refund. The retailer’s current support page was updated in September 2026, so older summaries saying there is no return deadline can be misleading.
Use the date on the receipt or online purchase record. The main policy says purchase, not delivery, for this ordinary refund clock. Do not add shipping time to the window unless Five Below specifically confirms different instructions for your order.
For example, an unopened item brought back within 60 days with the receipt can be assessed for a refund. At 120 days, the published option is an eligible exchange with proof. Condition and exclusions still apply in both examples. Keep the receipt even after the refund period if you might need the later exchange option.
Can you return opened items to Five Below?
An opened item is not automatically returnable just because you changed your mind. Five Below’s rule covers merchandise that is unopened or defective. Those are alternative qualifying conditions: an unopened unwanted item and an opened product with a real defect are different cases.
If you opened a product and it functions normally, the general policy does not promise a satisfaction refund for simply disliking it. Ask the store or support before making a special trip. If it is defective, explain what failed and bring the purchase proof.
An illustrative distinction: an unopened craft kit you no longer need fits the unopened route; a speaker that does not power on may fit the defective route. A working speaker you used for several weeks does not become defective because you prefer another model. Give an accurate reason so staff can review the correct situation.
Can you return to Five Below without a receipt?
The published policy requires the original receipt or online order confirmation. It does not state a general no-receipt refund or store-credit entitlement. If you lost the slip, work on recovering the purchase record rather than assuming the retailer will waive it.
For an online order, the confirmation email may already provide the required proof. Five Below also has an official receipt-help page and an order-status page for obtaining a finalized invoice. For an in-store purchase, its support team may help locate a copy using transaction details.
Keep the distinction clear: asking for a duplicate receipt is a way to restore proof, not a guarantee that every transaction can be found or every item will qualify. Once you obtain the copy, the 90-day deadline, condition rules and exclusions still apply. Packaging or a Five Below price sticker alone does not replace the purchase record.
How do you get a duplicate Five Below receipt or invoice?
For an online purchase, Five Below says you can retrieve a finalized receipt from its order-status page without logging in, using the relevant order information. Start there if you have the confirmation email but cannot find the invoice.
For an in-store receipt request, contact the High Five customer-relations team with the purchase date, approximate time if known, exact transaction amount, store location, the last four card digits or an indication that you paid cash, and examples of items purchased. Those details help identify the right transaction.
For example, a date and approximate amount may be less useful than the exact total and the correct store. Use only the official support route and provide the requested transaction details there. Keep the recovered receipt with your return records. The receipt-recovery process does not itself extend the refund deadline.
How do you return a Five Below purchase in a store?
Take the eligible merchandise and original receipt or online order confirmation to any Five Below location within 90 days for a refund. If you paid by debit or credit card, bring the original card: the policy says the card must be present to receive that refund.
Check opening hours before traveling and keep all pieces of a defective product together so the problem can be reviewed. Tell the associate whether you want a refund or an exchange. For a web purchase, make the order number and confirmation easy to read on your phone or bring a printed copy.
A store return avoids paying parcel postage, which can be substantial relative to a low-priced item. Retain the return receipt and check the original payment account afterward. An associate accepting the item and a bank displaying the credit are separate stages.
Can you return a Five Below online order to a store?
Yes. The general policy expressly accepts an online order confirmation as proof for a return at any Five Below location. Eligible unopened or defective merchandise remains subject to the 90-day purchase window for a refund.
This route can be more economical than mailing a low-cost item. Five Below does not reimburse return postage or provide a mail label, so compare the trip with the actual carrier cost before choosing shipping. A nearby store is particularly useful when several eligible products need to go back.
Keep special channels separate. The mail instructions apply only to ship-to-home purchases, and bulk orders have their own restrictions. If an order was placed through another shopping or delivery platform, ask that platform or Five Below which transaction process applies. The standard web-order rule should not be stretched into an unverified promise about every third-party checkout.
How do you mail a Five Below online return?
Mail returns are offered for ship-to-home purchases only. Contact Five Below support first with the order number, the products you want to return and the reason, such as changed mind, defective merchandise or an incorrect item.
The retailer recommends a carrier with tracking, including USPS, UPS, FedEx or DHL. Ship according to the support instructions and reply to the team with the tracking number. Its page says the refund is processed once the return is received.
Do not treat mailing as a shortcut around an excluded item or a missed refund deadline. Confirm eligibility before buying postage. Save the support correspondence, parcel acceptance receipt and item list together. If two similar orders are involved, label the paperwork clearly so support can connect each returned product with its purchase. Avoid combining transactions without checking how they should be documented.
What is the Five Below return mailing address?
The current ship-to-home return address is eCommerce Returns, 12050 E. McGregor Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46259. Contact support with the order number and reason before sending the parcel, as the official instructions require.
Use that address for the qualifying online mail route, not as an assumed destination for every Five Below purchase. The page limits mail returns to ship-to-home orders. A store receipt, pickup transaction or special bulk purchase should be assessed through its applicable route instead.
Pack eligible merchandise securely and include enough order information for identification, following the support team’s directions. Use tracking and send that number back to the team. Keep photographs of the packed items and the carrier receipt as practical evidence. A package arriving at the warehouse does not turn an excluded product into an accepted return.
Is Five Below return shipping free?
No prepaid label or return-postage reimbursement is provided under the ordinary online-return policy. You arrange and pay for tracked shipping yourself. Returning eligible merchandise to a store can avoid that parcel cost.
For illustration, if an item cost $10 and the carrier charges $7 to send it back, postage would absorb much of the potential merchandise refund. That $7 is a hypothetical carrier quote, not a Five Below fee. Compare the actual quote, the value of the return and the cost of a store visit.
For a damaged, defective or incorrect delivery, contact support before paying for postage and request instructions for that specific problem. The general page lists those reasons in its contact process but does not promise an automatic shipping-cost exception. Obtain an explicit response rather than assuming a reimbursement will be added later.
Can you exchange Five Below items after 90 days?
Yes, the current policy allows an exchange at any time for eligible unopened or defective merchandise with the original receipt or online order confirmation. The replacement must be the same item or another item of equal value.
This is useful if a product develops a qualifying problem after the ordinary refund window. It is not permission to exchange a functioning used item indefinitely, and it does not promise cash, a higher-value replacement or a price-difference arrangement beyond the stated equal-value option.
For example, a defective $5 product with its receipt can be presented for an eligible same-item or equal-value exchange after day 90. Bring the full item and explain the failure. Ask staff how the value is determined if the original product is unavailable or the current price differs. Save the exchange receipt for the replacement.
Why does Five Below require the original payment card?
The policy says debit- and credit-card refunds are credited to the original card used for the purchase, and that the card must be present to receive the refund. Bring it along with the original receipt or web-order confirmation.
If the card expired, was replaced, or belonged to the person who bought the gift, contact Five Below before the visit. The published rule does not describe every replacement-card or digital-wallet scenario, so an alternative should be confirmed rather than assumed.
Keep proof and payment separate in your planning. An order confirmation can establish what was bought while the card requirement governs the refund transaction. Showing only the card does not automatically substitute for the required receipt. For an eligible exchange instead of a refund, ask the store about that route and its documentation without expecting cash to be issued to a different person.
How long does a Five Below refund take?
Five Below says card credits may take 2–10 business days to post, depending on the financial institution. For mailed returns, it processes the refund once the returned merchandise is received, so shipping time comes before the payment-posting stage.
Track the milestones separately: carrier acceptance, warehouse receipt, refund processing and the bank credit. A label receipt or tracking number proves a shipping step; it is not proof that the refund has already been issued.
If the parcel shows delivered, reply to your support conversation with tracking and ask whether the refund has been processed. If you have a refund confirmation but no credit, compare the amount and destination card with the original transaction. Weekends and holidays can affect business-day timing. Retain the store return receipt or support confirmation until the money appears.
Can you return broken or defective Five Below products?
Defective merchandise is included in Five Below’s ordinary return and exchange wording. With the required proof, an eligible refund falls within 90 days of purchase; after that, its stated continuing option is a same-item or equal-value exchange.
Describe the specific fault, when you first noticed it and any normal setup steps you already tried. Keep components and packaging if available. Photos of delivery damage or a missing part can help support understand a web-order problem, though the general page does not list photographs as a universal requirement.
Do not keep using an item that appears unsafe while waiting for a response. Contact the store or official support for instructions. Accidental damage and an actual product defect are different explanations, so report what happened accurately. The policy’s use of defective does not guarantee acceptance of any broken item regardless of cause.
How do Five Below gift returns work?
A gift still needs purchase proof and eligible condition. Ask the giver for the receipt or online order confirmation. The general return policy does not publish a separate gift-recipient cash-refund rule, and its card-refund requirement can affect who needs to be present.
Before returning a card-funded gift, ask the store how it can process the transaction when you do not have the original payment card. Do not assume the refund can go to your own card or that store credit is automatic. An eligible exchange may be worth discussing if a refund is inconvenient.
For a hypothetical unopened duplicate gift within 90 days, proof and payment handling still matter. A gift card itself is nonreturnable. For a gift opened and used without a defect, the general unopened-or-defective condition rule continues to apply; gift status does not create an exception.
Are Five Below gift cards returnable?
No. Five Below expressly excludes gift cards from returns. Keep the purchase of the card separate from merchandise bought using it: the merchandise is assessed under the applicable item policy, while the card itself is not an ordinary returnable product.
If you purchased an unwanted gift card, the normal refund and after-90-day exchange statements should not be read as overriding that exclusion. If the card has an activation or balance problem, contact official support for help with the card problem rather than presenting it as a changed-mind merchandise return.
The main return page does not describe every gift-card-funded or split-tender refund arrangement. Ask support where an accepted merchandise refund would go in your particular transaction. Save the receipt and retain any card needed to identify the payment, while keeping its full number and access code out of public messages.
Are Five Below bulk orders refundable?
Qualifying special bulk orders are final sale unless the merchandise arrives damaged, defective or incorrect. Five Below defines a large or bulk order as 25 or more units of one SKU that are not in stock and must be specially ordered and delivered to the store.
That definition is narrower than simply buying a large basket of assorted items. Review the actual order arrangement before applying either the ordinary 90-day refund policy or the bulk exclusion. Ask for clarification while ordering if you are buying for a school, party or organization.
For example, 30 specially ordered identical products for an event can fall under the bulk rule even if every package stays unopened. A change in event plans does not make the order refundable. If those goods arrive incorrect or damaged, document the problem and contact the team for the stated exception route.
What should you check before a Five Below return?
Confirm the purchase date, unopened or defective condition, receipt or confirmation, and payment card before choosing a route. Those four checks cover most ordinary return situations without relying on outdated claims of unlimited refunds.
Choose a store for an eligible purchase when the trip makes sense. For a ship-to-home mail return, contact support first, calculate postage, use tracking and reply with the tracking number. After 90 days, ask for the published same-item or equal-value exchange instead of expecting an original-payment refund.
Set aside gift cards and qualifying bulk orders because their exclusions are distinct. Recover a missing receipt through the official help process as soon as possible; recovery takes time and does not reset the purchase date. Keep the return receipt or support conversation until the exchange or payment credit is complete. Recheck the retailer’s page if its instructions change.
