The short answer

Tractor Supply’s standard return window is 30 days from purchase, with 90-day paperless returns for active Neighbor’s Club members. Proof or verification approval is required. Online orders can use offered store, parcel or truck-return routes. Ammunition and pet prescription medications are excluded; live goods and shipping-restricted products have separate instructions.

How to start a return

  1. Bring the item, purchase proof or linked Neighbor’s Club record and valid ID.
  2. Confirm eligibility, product restrictions and the applicable refund tender.
  3. Keep the completed return receipt.

Online or by mail

01 / THE DETAILS

What is Tractor Supply’s return policy?

Tractor Supply’s standard window is 30 days from purchase for store and online orders. Return the item with proof of purchase for an eligible exchange or refund at its original purchase price. Active Neighbor’s Club members are eligible for 90-day paperless returns, but product exclusions and verification still matter.

The normal choices are a Tractor Supply store or the online return process. For an online order, the account’s order history or guest order lookup lets you select the merchandise and choose an offered return route. Parcel and truck-delivered merchandise use different shipping arrangements.

Before starting, check whether the item is restricted. Ammunition and pet prescription medications are not ordinary returnable merchandise. Live goods have their own instructions, and products with shipping restrictions may need a store return. A longer membership window should not be read as removing those rules. Keep the order confirmation and identify the product before choosing how to send it back.

02 / THE DETAILS

Is the return window 30 days or 90 days?

The standard rule is 30 days from the purchase date, including purchases made online. The membership provision separately allows active Neighbor’s Club members 90-day paperless returns. Check that the purchase is attached to the right account and that your membership is active before relying on that benefit.

The policy also says store returns after 30 days require refund-verification approval. Keep that qualification in mind alongside the member benefit: extra time is not a promise that every product and every undocumented transaction will automatically be accepted.

For a purchase that is nearing its deadline, bring the account record or receipt and ask the store to confirm eligibility. Do not switch the starting point to delivery simply because shipping took several days. The page gives a separate 30-days-from-delivery instruction for reporting damaged or incomplete arrivals; that issue-specific reporting period is different from the ordinary purchase-based return window.

03 / THE DETAILS

What counts as proof of purchase?

For store purchases, a register receipt or a transaction connected to a Neighbor’s Club account can establish purchase proof. For website purchases, the order confirmation or shipping confirmation email serves that purpose. Look for those records before treating a return as undocumented.

If the original email or receipt is missing, Tractor Supply says its Customer Solutions Center can help request a copy. Supply the information needed to locate the actual transaction rather than relying on the product’s current shelf price. The receipt or account record helps determine both eligibility and what was paid.

Keep proof with the item until the return is complete, particularly if it was part of a promotion or bought with several payment types. A membership account can be useful for locating a transaction, but simply being a member does not prove that any item in your possession was purchased from Tractor Supply. Ask the team to match the order first.

04 / THE DETAILS

Can you return an item without a receipt?

A store return without purchase proof requires approval through Tractor Supply’s refund-verification system. If approved, a valid state or federal ID is required, and the refund is based on the current item price in the form of a gift card. It is not a guaranteed cash refund at the original price.

Try finding the purchase through the Neighbor’s Club account or obtaining a receipt copy before choosing that route. An item that has since been reduced in price can have a different current value, and a return that cannot be verified may be declined.

The policy’s verification wording also applies to returns after the ordinary 30-day period. Explain whether you are relying on the active-member extension or asking about an exception. Keep those situations distinct. An associate can assess the actual purchase and account, while a general rule about no-receipt credit cannot establish approval for every product.

05 / THE DETAILS

Can you take an online order to a Tractor Supply store?

Yes. The return policy allows an online purchase to be brought to a Tractor Supply store, with the order confirmation and valid ID. For a straightforward eligible return, that can avoid arranging parcel shipping or a collection for a large item.

Check the product and location before loading bulky merchandise into a vehicle. Some products have special instructions, and the page does not make every hazardous, live or restricted item an ordinary counter return. If the return involves a defect, missing part or delivery issue, explain it to the store first.

At the counter, confirm the amount and refund method before leaving. Store refunds can differ from mailed online refunds, particularly for gift-card funding, debit purchases and checks. Keep the return receipt so you can match the credit to the original transaction. An immediate store transaction may still take time to appear in the relevant payment account.

06 / THE DETAILS

How do you start an online return as a member or guest?

Use Orders on Tractor Supply’s website. Registered customers can sign in, open order history and select Returns beside the relevant order. Guests can enter the purchase details in the order lookup and use its Returns option. Select the product, quantity, reason and any relevant comments.

The process then offers a store return or shipping route where available. Review the actual instructions for the merchandise rather than applying a label from another order. Check the refund amount, any shipping charges shown and which payment or credit will receive it.

Keep the confirmation after submitting. The order-details page can be used to monitor the return. If the button is missing or the transaction cannot be found, contact Customer Solutions with the order information before sending anything. A product whose shipping is restricted may require the in-store route instead of a normal parcel label, even if other items in the basket can be shipped.

07 / THE DETAILS

How do parcel and truck-delivery returns differ?

The online instructions distinguish parcel merchandise from truck delivery. For a parcel return, print the supplied return label and use UPS as directed. For truck-delivered merchandise, the delivery company contacts you to arrange pickup. An online request is the start of that arrangement, not proof that collection has occurred.

Keep the item available and follow the carrier’s packing and collection instructions. Do not try to turn a heavy delivery into an ordinary counter-service parcel without confirming the appropriate route. Ask about the actual collection arrangement and any order-specific costs before assuming a refund includes every delivery charge.

Record the handover or pickup and keep the tracking or collection paperwork. That provides a useful timeline if the merchandise has left your possession but the order has not updated. For an unexpected delay, ask whether the issue is arranging collection, transit, warehouse receipt or refund processing; those stages require different follow-up.

08 / THE DETAILS

Are shipping charges refunded, and is there a return fee?

Original delivery charges on an online purchase are generally retained, whether the return is made in a store or through the Online Returns Center. Tractor Supply lists exceptions for a shipping error, shipping damage or a manufacturer defect. Explain the actual problem so the right rule is applied.

The reviewed policy does not set one universal return-postage price for every parcel and truck-delivered item. Review the amount and instructions offered for the specific order instead of assuming a prepaid label means the entire return is free. A store route may be more convenient when eligible.

Toro White Glove Delivery has its own stated limitation: shipping charges are not refunded when a White Glove delivered zero-turn tractor is returned in store or online. A product refund and a service or delivery refund are separate questions. Before arranging a large return, ask the team to confirm the complete calculation so the expected credit is clear.

09 / THE DETAILS

How will you receive a store refund?

With purchase proof, the usual starting point is the original payment method, but Tractor Supply publishes several tender-specific rules. Credit-card purchases return to the same card account. Debit-card purchases are listed for cash refunds, subject to available store cash. Gift-card purchases receive a merchandise return card for store use.

Check payments have a timing distinction. Fewer than ten business days after purchase, a corporate check is issued. After that, cash may be provided for amounts below $200, subject to available cash, while amounts of $200 or more use a check. Corporate checks are sent within seven to ten business days.

Do not assume every eligible refund can be paid immediately in cash. Tell the associate how the purchase was funded and keep the return receipt showing the selected outcome. The original transaction, verification result and available store cash can affect the practical route, even when the merchandise itself qualifies.

10 / THE DETAILS

How are online refunds, gift cards and rewards handled?

The online-refund table sends credit-card payments back to the same card account. Tractor Supply gift-card funding is refunded as an e-gift card, and Neighbor’s Club reward funding is also listed for a Tractor Supply e-gift-card refund. PayPal refunds go to the payment vehicle associated with the PayPal account.

Separate those amounts when comparing the refund with the original order. A purchase partly funded with a reward should not be assumed to return entirely as new cash to a credit card. Check the return confirmation and the email used for any e-gift card.

Gift purchases are handled through a local Tractor Supply store, where the policy says the refund is a Tractor Supply gift card. Explain that you are returning a gift so the associate can use that process. The receipt and payment record remain useful, but holding the merchandise does not make the recipient entitled to redirect the original purchaser’s card refund.

11 / THE DETAILS

Can you exchange an item or return part of a BOGO offer?

For an exchange, Tractor Supply directs you to a store. Check availability of the replacement size, part or product before completing the transaction. An online refund request is not itself a reservation of replacement inventory.

For online buy-one-get-one promotions, the policy allows returning one or all of the items. Refunds use the promotional value allocated to the returned merchandise. A free or discounted companion product changes the calculation; the full standalone shelf price is not necessarily the refund for one item.

An illustrative basket might distribute a promotional discount across both products rather than assign every dollar of savings to the cheaper one. Compare the receipt’s allocated amounts with the return confirmation. If all promotional products are returned, the policy describes refunding the amount originally charged. Ask for an explanation of an unexpected figure before concluding that a partial refund is an error.

12 / THE DETAILS

What if your purchase included a promotional gift card?

Tractor Supply says returning a qualifying purchase reduces the refund by the value of the free promotional gift card. Gift cards are nonreturnable under the ordinary policy, so handing back the qualifying product does not automatically cancel the value already issued separately.

For an illustration, if an eligible $150 purchase earned a $15 promotional gift card, a return can leave $135 as the merchandise refund under that rule. This is a simplified example before tax and other adjustments, not a promise about every offer.

Keep the promotion terms and receipt together so you can distinguish the product price from the extra benefit. Items acquired entirely through a free promotion cannot be refunded as though you paid their normal retail price. If the calculation seems wrong, identify both the product and the associated gift-card offer when contacting support; focusing only on the merchandise line can miss the reason for the deduction.

13 / THE DETAILS

Which products have restrictions or are final sale?

All ammunition sales are final. Pet prescription medications are nonrefundable and cannot be returned or exchanged in store or online. For a medication order problem, use the pharmacy support instructions rather than sending it back as ordinary merchandise.

Live goods have product-specific instructions in the purchase email or product page. Do not apply a single blanket return promise to plants, animals or other live products without checking the actual terms. Products with shipping restrictions, including the examples of batteries and oil, may only be returned in store.

The originally purchased item must be the item sent back. Tractor Supply warns that mistaken or ineligible products are not compensated and may be discarded. Check model, components and order details before packing. If a machine has been used or has a fault, explain its condition and ask for the appropriate return or manufacturer-support route rather than assuming the headline period is an unconditional trial.

14 / THE DETAILS

What if the order arrives damaged, has missing parts or is not collected?

For an order arriving damaged or with missing parts, contact the local store or Customer Support Center within 30 days of delivery. Keep the order details and photos available and ask what remedy and shipping arrangements apply before repacking a large product.

That delivery-based reporting instruction differs from the ordinary purchase-based return window. Describe which issue applies rather than assuming every deadline starts at the same event. If a problem affects safe handling, get instructions before transporting or shipping the product.

Unclaimed Ship-to-Store orders have a separate rule: after 45 days from the order date, they are automatically returned and refunded to the original credit card; any gift-card-funded portion is refunded by e-gift card. This is not a 45-day extension for something already collected and used. If you no longer want an uncollected order, contact the store or support instead of relying on an unrelated merchandise-return deadline.

15 / THE DETAILS

How long does the refund take, and who can help?

Tractor Supply processes eligible store returns immediately, while the time for a payment credit to appear depends on the bank. For shipped returns, the policy asks you to allow 48 hours for processing after receipt. That does not include the time spent in carrier transit or arranging a truck pickup.

Customer Solutions is available at 877-718-6750. The policy page publishes hours Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m.–9 p.m. Central, and Sunday, 8 a.m.–7 p.m. Central, with Christmas Day closed. Check the current page if a holiday affects your call.

Prepare the order or receipt number, member account details, product, handover date and tracking. Identify the expected refund method and any promotion, reward or delivery issue involved. Ask which stage is unresolved and keep the case reference. A clear record makes it easier to distinguish a missing package, a verification decision, an e-gift-card refund and a payment still posting.
