Eligible ordinary ASICS purchases have 90 calendar days from purchase. Items must be unworn, unwashed and unaltered, in original packaging with tags attached. U.S. ASICS store returns are free; mailed nonmember returns have a $4.99 deduction. Manufacturing defects use a separate limited warranty, and special programs have their own terms.
How to start a return
In a store
- Use an ASICS store in the U.S. listed by the official locator.
- Bring the eligible unworn item, original packaging and attached tags, plus proof of purchase.
- Keep the return confirmation and confirm the refund details for your transaction.
Online or by mail
- Start from the ASICS online-purchase return link and have the order confirmation ready.
- Follow the order-specific instructions and review the nonmember shipping deduction if applicable.
- Pack the eligible original-condition items and keep the carrier receipt and return reference.
What is the ASICS return policy in the United States?
ASICS gives you 90 calendar days from purchase to return eligible items in their original condition. Shoes and clothing must be unworn, unwashed and unaltered, with their original packaging and tags still attached. That makes this a useful window for deciding whether to keep a purchase, but it is not a three-month running trial.
The easiest way to choose a return route is to look at your order and your OneASICS membership status. Eligible store returns are free. For a mailed return, nonmembers have a $4.99 shipping deduction; the return page promotes free returns for OneASICS members.
Start with the seller, too. This guide covers the U.S. ASICS policy. If another retailer sold you the shoes, use that retailer’s return process rather than assuming the ASICS online portal can refund its transaction. Manufacturing defects have a separate warranty route, explained below.
| Purchase or question | Rule | What matters |
|---|---|---|
| Ordinary eligible purchases | 90 calendar days from purchase | Unworn, unwashed and unaltered |
| Product condition | Original packaging; tags attached | A running trial is not included |
| U.S. ASICS store route | Free | Bring proof of purchase |
| Nonmember mail return | $4.99 deducted | Membership offer refers to future orders |
| Footwear manufacturing defect | 1-year limited warranty from delivery | Original purchaser and qualifying seller |
| Apparel/accessory defect | 6-month limited warranty from delivery | Separate warranty exclusions apply |
When does the 90-day return window start?
The published ASICS return window runs from the purchase date, not from your first run, the day you open the box or the day you decide the fit is wrong. It is measured in calendar days, so weekends count.
Check the purchase date on your order confirmation or store receipt as soon as the shoes arrive. If a delivery has taken longer than expected, do not quietly move the starting date forward. Ask Customer Service about that particular order while you still have time to act.
There is also a practical difference between opening a return request and actually handing over the item. The summary policy says returns must fall within 90 days; it does not promise extra days simply because you generated a label. Follow the deadline shown for your order and leave room for the return journey rather than planning around the last evening.
Can you return ASICS shoes after wearing them?
Ordinary ASICS returns require unworn merchandise. A run around the block, a gym session or a full workday can put a pair outside that condition requirement even if the purchase is comfortably inside 90 days.
Before committing to new running shoes, check the size, width and feel carefully while keeping the shoes in returnable condition. Preserve the tags, inserts and box until you know they are staying. Do not wash a used pair and describe it as unworn; washing is itself excluded by the ordinary return conditions.
A shoe that develops a manufacturing defect needs a different assessment. ASICS has a limited warranty for qualifying defects, but improper fit and normal wear are excluded. Tell the team what actually happened. A seam failure and a pair that simply feels too narrow are different problems, and they do not have the same solution.
Are ASICS returns free, and who pays the $4.99 fee?
Returning eligible items to an ASICS store in the U.S. is free under the current return page. For mailed returns, ASICS deducts $4.99 from a nonmember’s refund. OneASICS members are offered free returns, subject to the order and program terms.
Here is an illustration of the difference: a $120 eligible merchandise refund would become $115.01 after a $4.99 nonmember mail deduction, before any separate tax or order adjustments. That is a shipping deduction, rather than a percentage restocking charge.
If an ASICS store is convenient, compare the trip with that deduction. A free store return can be sensible; a long drive might cost more than the postage you save. Use the official store locator to find an actual ASICS location rather than a sporting-goods shop that happens to sell the brand. Confirm unusual orders with the location before travelling.
Does joining OneASICS make an existing return free?
Do not assume that signing up today removes a fee from an order you already placed. ASICS specifically invites nonmembers to join for free returns on future orders. That wording matters if you are looking at a return label for a guest purchase.
Use the account associated with the original order and check the fee displayed in the return process. If you believed you were a member when you bought the item but the portal shows a deduction, ask Customer Service to review the order before you submit the return.
Membership also has separate rewards terms. An accepted return can remove the spending and benefits associated with the returned merchandise. Benefits redeemed on a purchase may be forfeited without a cash refund. Free return shipping and restoration of a promotional benefit are separate questions, so check both when comparing what you paid with what you expect back.
How do you return an ASICS online order by mail?
Start on the official ASICS return page and choose the online-purchase option. It takes you to the linked Narvar return service. Have your order confirmation ready so you can identify the correct order and items.
Follow the instructions produced for that return. Review any shipping deduction before confirming, use the supplied destination and carrier instructions, and keep the return reference. A warehouse address found on an old package or another website is not a substitute for the current order-specific route.
Pack the unworn merchandise with its original packaging and attached tags. Protect the shoe box inside a separate shipping carton where needed, rather than treating the product box as disposable wrapping. Keep the carrier acceptance receipt until the return has been resolved. Tracking is useful if a package reaches the return facility but the refund has not yet appeared; it shows the transport stage separately from ASICS’ processing stage.
Can you return an online order to an ASICS store?
Yes. ASICS tells shoppers to bring their items and proof of purchase to any ASICS store in the U.S. for a free return. This is especially useful for a nonmember who would otherwise have the $4.99 mail charge deducted.
Bring the order confirmation, the complete item and its original packaging. Open the order information on your phone before you reach the counter so the associate can identify the purchase. Keeping a downloaded copy can help if the store has poor reception.
Check the location through ASICS’ own locator. A department store or independent running shop is a separate seller, even when its footwear wall carries ASICS. If the order involves a special program, a gift or an unusual payment arrangement, call ahead with the order details. The general store-return option does not settle every possible refund method for those transactions.
What if you cannot find your ASICS receipt?
Start by recovering the order confirmation rather than assuming there is a guaranteed return without a receipt. ASICS’ store-return instructions explicitly ask for proof of purchase, and the online route asks you to have the confirmation ready.
Search your email for the order number, purchase confirmation and shipping message. If you used an account, check the order information associated with it. For a store purchase, contact the selling location and ask what information it can use to locate the transaction.
A bank charge can help you identify when and where you bought something, but do not assume it replaces all the product-level details ASICS needs. Ask the team what evidence it will accept before travelling or sending a package. Warranty claims are stricter: a valid proof of purchase is required, and a claim without the required documentation cannot be reviewed under the published warranty instructions.
How do ASICS exchanges work if you need another size?
Keep the original pair unworn while you arrange the next step. The return page has an Exchanges Policy section, but you should use the current order instructions or Customer Service to confirm the available exchange method for your purchase. Do not assume that mailing a box with a handwritten size request reserves another pair.
Ask whether the transaction will be handled as a direct exchange or as a refund followed by a new purchase. That distinction affects stock availability, promotional pricing and whether you need to pay for the replacement before the original refund arrives.
For example, if your size is selling out, waiting for the return to finish could leave you without a replacement. Buying again may secure the size, but it creates a separate charge and does not automatically preserve a previous discount. Get a clear answer about the price and process before deciding which route suits you.
How long does an ASICS refund take?
Keep the return’s transport, inspection and payment stages separate. A carrier delivery scan tells you the parcel arrived; it does not by itself confirm that ASICS accepted the merchandise or issued the refund.
The current public return summary does not give a single refund-posting deadline for every U.S. payment method. Follow the timing supplied with your order’s return instructions and ask Customer Service for the issued-refund date if the stated period has passed. Avoid borrowing a refund estimate from ASICS Canada or another country’s help page.
Have the order number, return reference and tracking number ready when you follow up. Ask whether the return is awaiting inspection, has been approved, or has already been refunded. Once a refund has been sent, your payment provider may be the next place to check. This is more useful than repeatedly opening a new return request for the same pair.
What should you do if ASICS sends the wrong or damaged item?
Inspect the shipment when it arrives. If the size, model or quantity differs from the order, photograph the item, its size label and the packing information before you use it. For damage, photograph the packaging as well as the product.
Contact ASICS with the order number and a short explanation of what was expected and what arrived. The return page has a dedicated wrong-item/questions section, while the sale terms direct shoppers to Customer Support about delivery damage. Ask the team to confirm the appropriate return and any shipping-cost treatment for the error.
Do not describe an incorrect shipment as a simple change of mind if that is not what happened. Similarly, do not send a damaged product through an ordinary unworn-return request without explaining the problem. Clear information helps the team choose the correct process and avoids confusion about why the item is not in normal return condition.
What warranty applies to defective ASICS shoes and apparel?
The ASICS limited warranty covers qualifying manufacturing defects for one year from delivery for footwear and six months from delivery for apparel and accessories, unless a product specifies a different period. It applies to the original consumer purchaser and qualifying purchases directly from ASICS or an authorized retailer.
The warranty excludes problems such as improper fit, normal wear, misuse, alterations and natural material degradation. Removable parts such as shoelaces and insoles are excluded. ASICS Road Tested products are also excluded from this limited warranty, subject to applicable law.
For online purchases from an authorized seller where ASICS lacks delivery records, the warranty normally starts seven calendar days after purchase unless you provide proof of a later delivery. These warranty clocks are separate from the ordinary 90-day return clock. A qualifying defect may have a warranty route even when a worn item cannot meet ordinary return conditions.
How do you submit an ASICS warranty claim?
Use ASICS’ official warranty form and supply valid purchase proof and photos. The proof needs to identify the date, retailer, order or receipt number, product and purchase price. The form also asks for product information and a description of the defect.
The current instructions request images showing the size tag, affected area and outsole, with a maximum of four images. Files must be JPG or PNG, no more than 1.5 MB each, and filenames cannot contain the listed special characters. Prepare clear images before you begin so the team can assess the actual problem.
ASICS says review and processing can take four to six weeks. If a claim is approved, the warranty page describes a replacement at no cost, with a comparable product possible when the original is unavailable. Approval is not automatic, and replacement does not restart the warranty period. Keep your case details until the claim is complete.
Can you cancel an ASICS order instead of returning it?
Act immediately. The U.S. sale terms allow cancellation of a Digital Store order within 15 minutes of placement through the link in the order confirmation. After that period, the terms say the order cannot be cancelled and will be processed. Orders marked Pending or On Hold cannot be cancelled under those terms.
That short period is useful if you notice the wrong size or delivery address right after checkout. Open the confirmation and use its cancellation option while it is still available. Do not assume that sending a message pauses fulfilment or extends the 15 minutes.
If cancellation is no longer possible, keep an eligible delivered item unworn and use the return instructions. A cancellation and a return have different timing and logistics: one stops the purchase before fulfilment, while the other requires you to meet the conditions for merchandise that has already been supplied.
Who should you contact about an ASICS return?
Call U.S. ASICS Customer Service at 1-855-233-3120, or use the contact form in the Help Center. For a defect, start with the warranty page so you can see the required evidence before contacting the team.
Make your question specific. For an ordinary return, provide the purchase date, order number and the route you want to use. For a refund follow-up, add the return reference and tracking information. For an exchange, explain which size or color you need and ask how the price will be handled.
Before you send anything, make sure the deadline, condition requirement and return destination are clear. If your issue is a special program, missing proof or a defect, get instructions for that situation rather than relying on a general return label. Keep the confirmation and case reference; they are useful if the next person helping you needs to see what was already arranged.
