Can you return worn, washed, or damaged Gap clothes?
Ordinary returns must be in their original condition: unwashed and unworn. Trying on clothing is different from wearing and washing it. Keep the packaging and tags while deciding whether to keep an item.

A Gap store purchase cannot be returned by mail. Bring it to the appropriate brand’s store. Gap and Gap Factory are not interchangeable, and purchases cannot be returned across brands such as Old Navy or Banana Republic.

How does Gap refund your money, and how long does it take?
Eligible standard refunds generally go to the original payment method, including applicable tax. After Gap issues a card refund, allow up to 10 additional business days for it to appear. That is the payment-posting period, not a guarantee that the entire mailed return will finish in 10 business days.
Gift-card purchases are refunded to a new gift card. If you paid with both a gift card and another payment method, the gift-card portion is refunded first. PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, and Afterpay refunds go through the original payment partner.
For eligible loyalty returns after day 30, the refund is a Merchandise Return Card regardless of the longer deadline.
How do Gap exchanges work?
Gap processes an exchange as a return followed by a new purchase. Follow its exchange instructions so the replacement and any price treatment are handled correctly.
For the same style in a different size or color, Gap describes retaining the applicable discount. A switch to a different style does not carry that discount over automatically. Final-sale items cannot be exchanged.
How do you return a gift from Gap?
