Warby Parker
return policy.

Warby Parker’s 30-day returns, free exchanges, contact lens rules, refunds and current six-month scratch guarantee explained.

By October 9, 2026

The short answer

Warby Parker offers free eligible returns and exchanges within 30 days for glasses, sunglasses and accessories. Contacts generally require unopened original packaging, with an exception for damaged or defective arrivals. Refunds use the original payment method; standard prescription-lens scratch coverage is a separate six-month benefit.

How to start a return

In a store

  1. Bring eligible eyewear or accessories and purchase details to a Warby Parker store within 30 days.
  2. Tell the associate whether you want a refund, exchange or adjustment.
  3. For contacts, keep eligible boxes unopened and confirm the purchase deadline.

Online or by mail

  1. Contact Warby Parker for an eyewear return and the order-specific label.
  2. For contacts, use the separate portal linked in the official returns FAQ.
  3. Follow the current packaging directions and retain tracking.
01 / THE DETAILS

What is the Warby Parker return policy?

Warby Parker offers a 30-day return and exchange period for prescription and nonprescription eyeglasses, sunglasses and non-eyewear accessories. The return or exchange is free under the published policy. Contact lenses also have a 30-day policy, with stricter packaging requirements.

Eligible refunds go back to the original payment method. Gift cards themselves are nonrefundable, and discounts on a multiple-pair purchase can change the amount returned when you keep only part of the order.

Start by identifying what you bought. Trying on prescription glasses, opening a contact lens box and purchasing an eye exam are three different situations. The general eyewear promise should not be stretched into a refund promise for every service sold by the company. Keep your order information and ask support to confirm the last eligible day for your particular purchase.

02 / THE DETAILS

Can you return prescription glasses after trying them?

Yes. Prescription eyeglasses are explicitly included in the 30-day policy, along with prescription sunglasses. Having prescription lenses does not by itself make a pair final sale. Nonprescription versions are included too.

If the frames feel uncomfortable or the lenses do not seem right, describe the problem when you contact the team. Warby Parker says its opticians can help with measurements, adjustments and vision troubleshooting. That gives you an opportunity to learn whether a fit correction or an exchange would address the issue.

Keep the return deadline in mind while arranging help. A conversation about adjustment is not a published promise that the 30-day period pauses or restarts. If you already know you want a refund, say so clearly and request the return instructions rather than leaving the order in an unresolved support conversation.

03 / THE DETAILS

Can you return an online Warby Parker order in a store?

Yes. Warby Parker’s official store FAQ says stores accept returns and exchanges for eligible eyewear and accessories purchased either online or in a store, within the 30-day period. You do not have to assume an online pair must be shipped back.

Bring the glasses or other item, your order details and any available purchase confirmation. Explain whether you want a different frame, a fit adjustment or a refund. If you plan to exchange, an associate can help identify what is available and what needs to be ordered.

The store also accepts eligible contact lens returns, but those boxes must remain unopened. Check the local store’s hours before traveling. Store returns are particularly useful when you want someone to look at a frame’s fit, although an adjustment and a return remain separate requests.

04 / THE DETAILS

How do you start a return by mail?

For eyeglasses, sunglasses and accessories, contact Warby Parker through chat, telephone or email to set up the return or exchange. The published FAQ directs customers to the team rather than giving one universal warehouse address for every package.

Have the order number, purchaser’s email and the item you want to return ready. If the order contains two pairs and you are keeping one, identify the pair being sent back. Ask the team for the correct label and any packaging instructions for that order.

Pack the eyewear so it is protected during transit, follow the supplied directions and keep the carrier handoff receipt. Saving the tracking number is practical recordkeeping; it is not a substitute for completing the return. For contact lenses, the retailer provides a separate self-service portal explained below.

05 / THE DETAILS

Are Warby Parker returns free, and what if the label is missing?

Warby Parker describes eligible returns and exchanges within the 30-day period as free. If you misplaced the return label, its official help page says to contact the team through chat, telephone or email for a replacement.

Ask for the current label instead of buying postage based on an old address found online. A label from another order may not connect your package to the correct return. If you are returning multiple products, confirm whether they belong in one shipment or need separate instructions.

Keep a copy of the label or tracking details until the refund or exchange is resolved. If a shipping problem occurs, those details let the team identify the package.

06 / THE DETAILS

Can you return glasses without a paper receipt?

Contact the team with your purchase information if the paper receipt is missing. Warby Parker does not publish a general no-receipt cash-refund promise in the return FAQ. The useful next step is to identify the original order rather than assuming an unidentified pair qualifies.

The retailer’s itemized-receipt FAQ says you can request a receipt through chat or by emailing [email protected]. Use the email associated with the purchase when possible and provide the order number if you have it.

For a gift, ask the purchaser for the gift receipt or order information. For your own online purchase, check the confirmation email and account before visiting a store. Having the transaction identified helps establish the purchase date, payment method and any discount that affects the refund.

07 / THE DETAILS

What is the Warby Parker contact lens return policy?

Contact lenses have a 30-day return policy when the original packaging is unopened. The official store FAQ describes the period as within 30 days of purchase. The central return FAQ also allows returns when the contacts arrived damaged or defective.

Do not assume that opening one box leaves every box in the order equally eligible. Separate unopened boxes from opened ones and tell support exactly which products you want to return. The standard unopened-box rule does not promise a change-of-mind refund for opened, otherwise satisfactory lenses.

If the shipment arrived damaged, keep the packaging and describe its condition before discarding anything. A damage or defect claim is a different reason from deciding you bought too many boxes. Warby Parker’s team can identify the appropriate handling for the actual situation.

08 / THE DETAILS

How do you send contact lenses back?

Use the contact lens return portal linked from Warby Parker’s official return FAQ. The retailer directs contact lens customers to its Narvar portal, while eyewear returns start with the support team.

Check the order information, select the eligible boxes and follow the portal’s instructions for that return. Keep the original unopened packaging intact. If damaged or defective lenses do not fit the normal options shown in the portal, contact the team and explain the exception rather than choosing an inaccurate return reason.

Save the confirmation and tracking information after handing off the parcel. Do not send contact lenses to an address copied from a glasses return unless the current instructions tell you to. A product-specific route helps the retailer connect the shipment to the right transaction and determine which boxes were returned.

09 / THE DETAILS

Does Warby Parker replace scratched lenses for free?

The current standard no-scratch guarantee lasts six months for prescription eyeglass and sunglass lenses. During that period, Warby Parker offers a free fresh set of lenses. Its help pages direct customers to a store for assistance.

This is a lens remedy, not a six-month change-of-mind refund window. A customer who dislikes the frame after several months cannot treat scratch coverage as an extension of the original 30-day return policy.

Take the glasses to a store and explain when they were purchased and what happened to the lenses. Keep the purchase details available so the team can check eligibility. Older references to a universal one-year standard guarantee should not replace the current six-month terms. The optional Care plan has different coverage, described in the next answer.

10 / THE DETAILS

How is Warby Parker Care different from the standard guarantee?

Warby Parker Care is an optional protection plan. The current return FAQ says it extends scratch coverage from six months to one year. For qualifying scratches between months six and twelve, an approved Care claim provides a replacement pair of glasses.

The plan also includes accidental-damage coverage under its terms. That coverage should not be described as automatically included with every purchase. Check whether you actually purchased Care, and use the plan’s claim process rather than requesting a normal 30-day return.

The remedy also differs: standard scratch coverage supplies fresh lenses, while the extended scratch claim described for Care replaces the pair after approval. Before sending anything away, ask the team how your plan applies, what information it needs and whether the frame or lenses will be replaced.

11 / THE DETAILS

Can you return Warby Parker glasses after 30 days?

The published satisfaction return period is 30 days. The current FAQ does not promise an automatic refund after that period. Contact the team with your order details if you have missed it, but do not plan around an unconfirmed exception.

Identify the problem before asking for help. A frame that needs adjustment, scratched prescription lenses within six months and an accidental-damage claim under purchased Care may have separate routes. None of those automatically turns into an extended cash-refund entitlement.

For example, glasses that slide down your nose at day forty may benefit from an optician’s adjustment. Scratched lenses at month four may fall within the standard guarantee. A style preference at month four is a different request. Warby Parker says it does not have a formal frame-repair program, although stores can assist with adjustments and replacement screws or nose pads. Explaining the issue precisely helps the team offer the remedy that actually applies.

12 / THE DETAILS

Can you replace the lenses instead of returning the glasses?

Warby Parker offers lens replacement through stores. An optician inspects the frames to determine whether they are suitable, then sends eligible glasses to the optical lab. The help page says refreshed glasses are shipped back within 30 days.

Bring an updated prescription if you have one. Outside eligible free scratch coverage, lens replacement starts at $65 for eyeglasses and $155 for sunglasses, with the actual cost depending on the lenses selected.

Ask for the price and expected timing before handing over the pair. A replacement service can be useful when you like the frames and need different lenses, but it is not the same transaction as exchanging a recently purchased pair under the satisfaction policy. If these are your only glasses, consider how you will manage while they are at the lab.

13 / THE DETAILS

How are refunds calculated, and when will the money arrive?

An eligible refund goes back to the original payment method. The return FAQ does not publish a universal number of banking days for every refund, so avoid treating a store visit or parcel delivery scan as proof that the funds are already available.

Keep the return confirmation and ask the team when processing is complete. If the refund has been issued but the payment account has not updated, use that confirmation when following up.

For an Add a Pair and Save order, returning, exchanging or canceling part of the purchase may result in a prorated discount. The price of the returned pair before the promotion is therefore not necessarily your refund. Ask for the calculation before deciding which pair to keep, especially when the promotion depended on buying multiple pairs together.

14 / THE DETAILS

How do gift receipts and gift card returns work?

Gift receipts are available for eyeglasses, sunglasses and non-eyewear items such as lens cloths, totes and cases. The purchaser can access a gift receipt through the account associated with checkout or request help through chat or email.

If you received a pair as a gift, obtain that receipt before beginning the return. It helps identify the transaction without requiring you to guess the price or purchase date. Ask the team how the original-payment refund rule applies to your gift situation; the FAQ does not promise a universal cash payout to the recipient.

Gift cards themselves are nonreturnable. Warby Parker also says it does not offer gift receipts for nonreturnable services such as eye exams or prescription checks. Returning retail merchandise should not be presented as a way to reverse those separate service charges.

15 / THE DETAILS

Can you cancel an order before it ships?

Contact Warby Parker immediately if you need to change or cancel an order. The team says it processes orders quickly and will try to accommodate changes. That wording is not a guarantee that every order can be stopped.

There is a specific short limit for nonprescription sunglasses: changes are only available within one hour of order placement. If you entered the wrong information, contact chat or call rather than waiting for a shipping email.

Have the order number ready and state the exact change you need. Keep the response confirming whether the request succeeded. A cancellation request and a completed cancellation are different events. If the order has progressed too far to change, ask about the applicable return route and deadline rather than assuming the original message automatically canceled the purchase.

16 / THE DETAILS

Who should you contact about a Warby Parker return?

Call 888-492-7297, use chat on the official help page or email [email protected]. The return FAQ lists telephone support daily from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Eastern Time. Stores can assist with eligible returns, fitting and lens questions.

Give the team the order number, item, purchase date and desired outcome: refund, exchange, adjustment or a coverage claim. For an unfinished mail return, include the tracking number and date you handed over the package. For contacts, explain whether the boxes are unopened or arrived damaged.

Before ending the conversation, confirm the next action and keep the instructions. That can be a store visit, return label, contact lens portal step or lens inspection. Clear order-specific instructions are more useful than assuming every Warby Parker product follows the same process.
