Gucci gives you **30 days from the date of delivery** to return something bought on Gucci.com, and **10 days for beauty products, which must still be unopened**. Return shipping is free: every return travels on a prepaid label or QR code. You can post it back or take it to any Gucci store in the United States, but not to an outlet and not to a department store like Nordstrom or Saks. Items must be unworn with original tags attached, and on jewellery, watches, sunglasses and ready-to-wear the attached return tag has to still be intact. Made to Order, DIY, monogrammed, personalized and lingerie items are final sale. Refunds go back to the original payment method within 10 business days of the warehouse receiving the parcel, and your original delivery charge is not refunded.
How long do you have to return something to Gucci?
You have 30 days from the date of delivery to return an eligible item bought on Gucci.com. The clock runs from delivery, not from the day you ordered, and not from the day you get round to opening the box.
Beauty is the exception that catches people out. Gucci Beauty may only be returned unopened and within 10 days of delivery — a third of the window that applies to a handbag, and it closes the moment you break the seal.
Collect In Store orders run on their own 30-day clock that starts the day the item was made available for collection, not the day you walked in to pick it up.

What condition does Gucci require for a return?
Everything has to come back in original condition with the original tags still attached. Gucci states plainly that merchandise which has been worn, used, altered or damaged will not be accepted, and that this applies to Gucci Beauty as well.
Two category-specific rules sit underneath that:
- Lingerie and swimwear — where a piece ships with underwear protection, that protection must still be intact. Gucci asks that you try these on over your own clothing.
- Jewellery, watches, sunglasses and ready-to-wear — these ship with a return tag attached, and Gucci will only honour the return if that label is still intact. Cutting it off ends the return, whatever the date says.
Pack the item in its original packaging, and make sure the contents match exactly what you selected when you created the return request.

What happens if you cut the return tag off a Gucci item?
On jewellery, watches, sunglasses and ready-to-wear, the return tag is the return. Gucci says returns on those items "will only be honored if the label remains intact" — so removing it forfeits the return even inside the 30 days, even if the piece is otherwise unworn.
This is worth knowing before you try anything on, because the tag is designed to be awkward and the instinct is to remove it first. Leave it attached until you have decided to keep the item.
Our advice, not Gucci's: try ready-to-wear on over a base layer, keep the tag where it is, and photograph it attached before you repack — you have no recourse if it comes off in transit and nothing shows it was there.

What can't you return to Gucci?
Gucci lists several categories as final sale or otherwise ineligible:
- Made to Order items — once the order is submitted it cannot be cancelled, modified or returned for a refund.
- DIY, monogrammed and personalized items — same rule. Personalization is free on many pieces, but taking it ends your right to return.
- Lingerie products — final sale.
- Opened beauty — returnable only unopened, within 10 days.
- Anything worn, used, altered or damaged.
- Items whose return tag has been removed (jewellery, watches, sunglasses, ready-to-wear).
- Anything bought somewhere else — merchandise purchased at a Gucci store, a Gucci outlet, or another retailer or distributor cannot be sent back to Gucci.com. It goes back to wherever you bought it.
Décor items such as chairs, and anything with non-standard dimensions, aren't barred but need special handling — Gucci asks you to contact Customer Care rather than posting them.
Corporate gifts must go back to Gucci.com and nowhere else.

How do you start a Gucci return?
There are three routes, and all of them end with a free label.
Self-service. Open your MY GUCCI account, go to My Orders and choose Return Item(s) — or use the Return link in the delivery confirmation email. Pick the items, follow the prompts, and Gucci emails a confirmation with a QR code and a prepaid shipping label attached.
Client Advisor. Call 1.877.482.2430 or use live chat and an advisor will set the return up for you. You receive the same confirmation email with QR code and prepaid label.
In store. Take it to any Gucci store in the United States, excluding outlets.
For a posted return: pack the item in its original packaging, attach the printed label or take the QR code to a shipping centre, and either book a collection or drop it off. Track it through the confirmation email, your MY GUCCI account, or the tracking number on the label.

Can you return a Gucci.com order to a Gucci store?
Yes. An online order can go back to any Gucci store in the United States, within the same 30-day window (10 days for beauty), as long as it meets the Online Return Policy conditions. Bring a printed copy of the digital invoice from your shipment confirmation email.
Two exclusions matter:
- Gucci outlet stores do not take online returns.
- Department stores do not either — Gucci names Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Bergdorf Goodman explicitly. Selling Gucci does not make a retailer able to process a Gucci.com return.
Orders paid with PayPal, Amazon Pay or Affirm are accepted in store; the store initiates the return on your behalf.
One inconsistency worth knowing about: on the US site, the answer to "Can I return an item that I bought online to a Gucci store?" refers to stores in Canada, while the Online Return Policy answer on the same page says the United States. That reads as stale copy rather than a real restriction, but if you are travelling to return something, call ahead on 1.877.482.2430 and get it confirmed.

Does Gucci charge for return shipping?
No. Gucci states that all returns shipped using the prepaid shipping label or QR code are complimentary, and that applies whether you set the return up yourself, go through a Client Advisor, or exchange rather than refund.
That is unusually clean for luxury — there is no deduction from the refund and no restocking fee published anywhere in the policy.
What you don't get back is the delivery charge you paid originally. Gucci is explicit that any shipping charges incurred at the time of purchase are non-refundable.

How long does a Gucci refund take?
Once your parcel reaches the warehouse, Gucci processes the return within 10 business days and credits the original form of payment. You get an email when it completes.
Then the money has to clear: Gucci says to allow a further 10–15 business days for funds to appear in your account. So from the day it lands at the warehouse, budget around three to five weeks before it shows — and that is before transit time.
Prepaid Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover gift cards are reimbursed to the original card used.

| Stage | Gucci's stated time |
|---|---|
| Return processed after warehouse receipt | Within 10 business days |
| Funds available in your account | A further 10–15 business days |
| Exchange processed after warehouse receipt | Approximately 7–10 business days |
What happens to your Affirm loan when you return a Gucci order?
Gucci publishes specific Affirm terms, and the dates are worth reading before you delay a return.
- Processed within 30 days of the shipment date — the loan is cancelled before your first payment is due.
- Processed after 30 days — you are charged the first loan payment, which is then refunded once the return is submitted.
- Received after 45 days — any interest already paid on the loan is not refunded.
- Down payment — refunded once the return has been received and processed at the warehouse.
The 30-day Affirm clock runs from shipment, while your 30-day return window runs from delivery. Those are different dates, so an Affirm order returned on day 29 of the return window can still land the first payment on you.

Does Gucci refund the original delivery charge?
No. Gucci states that any original shipping charges incurred at the time of purchase are non-refundable, and repeats it in the exchange instructions.
Return postage is free; outbound postage is not returned to you.

How do Gucci exchanges work?
Gucci will exchange an online purchase within the same 30 days from delivery (10 days for beauty), and exchanges are subject to availability.
The online self-service exchange is narrower than most people expect: it is only for a different size of the same item, and only for an item of equal or lesser value. Anything else — a different colour, a different product, a more expensive piece — is not an online exchange. You return for a refund and place a new order.
You can also exchange through a Client Advisor on 1.877.482.2430, or in any Gucci store excluding outlets, bringing the printed digital invoice.
Exchanges are processed within approximately 7–10 business days of reaching the warehouse, and you get tracking when the replacement ships.

What is Gucci's return policy for items bought in a store?
Gucci publishes conditions for in-store purchases but does not publish a number of days. What it does state:
- Merchandise must be unworn, in original condition, in its original packaging and undamaged box, with original tags attached, and accompanied by a valid proof of purchase.
- Lingerie must still have its underwear protection intact where provided.
- No refunds or exchanges on personalized products, made to measure, made to order, or fragrance and beauty.
- Refunds are issued in the same form as the original payment.
Because the window itself isn't published, don't assume the 30-day online figure carries over. Ask at the till at the time of purchase and get the date written on the receipt.

Can you return something bought at a Gucci outlet?
Outlet purchases are exchange only — Gucci states that outlet locations will only accept exchanges, not refunds.
It runs in the other direction too: full-price merchandise bought at an outlet can be exchanged at any Gucci store in the United States, excluding department stores. But an outlet will not process a return of a Gucci.com order, and Gucci.com will not take back anything bought at an outlet.

Can you return a Gucci gift someone else bought you?
You can return it, but you probably won't see the money. Gucci states that gift items purchased on Gucci.com may be returned, however refunds may only be issued to the same credit card used for the original payment — the buyer's card, not yours.
There is no gift-receipt route to store credit, and Gucci.com does not offer an exchange on returned merchandise: the published advice is to return for a refund and place a new order.
For gift-selection orders, once the recipient has confirmed their choice the order is final and no exchanges can be made.

Can you return an international Gucci purchase?
No refunds. Gucci states it is not possible to return or request a refund for international purchases.
You can exchange with proof of purchase, provided the item meets all the usual requirements. The exchange is priced at the current local price, so if local tax rates differ you pay the difference, and Gucci says it cannot credit the tax from your original purchase.

How long do you have to return a Collect In Store order?
Thirty days, in store or through Client Services — but the window starts on the day the item was made available for collection, not the day you collected it.
If you leave a piece waiting at the boutique for a fortnight, you have burned half the window before you have touched it. Items must be in original condition with all labels attached and intact, and Made to Order and personalized pieces are not returnable.

Why would Gucci refuse your return?
Working from the conditions Gucci publishes, a return fails when:
- The 30-day window (or 10 days for beauty) has passed.
- The return tag on jewellery, watches, sunglasses or ready-to-wear has been removed.
- The item shows wear, use, alteration or damage.
- Original tags or packaging are missing.
- A beauty product has been opened.
- Underwear protection on lingerie or swimwear is missing.
- The parcel's contents don't match the items on the return request.
- The item is Made to Order, DIY, monogrammed, personalized or lingerie.
- You bought it at a store, outlet or another retailer and tried to return it to Gucci.com.
- You took a Gucci.com order to a department store counter.
Our advice, not Gucci's: photograph the item with the tag attached and the packaging intact before sealing the box, and keep the tracking number until the refund email arrives. The return-tag condition in particular is judged on arrival, and you have no evidence without a photo.

Where this comes from. Return Policy Desk is independent of Gucci. Every figure on this page was read from Gucci's own US Returns & Exchanges FAQ on 21 September 2026 and reflects the US site only. Gucci publishes its return terms inside that FAQ rather than on a standalone policy page. Preparation advice is our own editorial comment and is marked as such. Item-level terms shown at checkout, and any change Gucci makes after the date above, take precedence — check the source before you post anything back.
